PUTNAM — The Putnam Fire Marshal’s Office was recently notified by FM Global that Putnam’s grant application “stood out over the hundreds that they received” and won a $1,856 grant to assist with the town’s investigation and inspection efforts.
During the past 40 years, FM Global has awarded millions of dollars in funding for fire prevention worldwide. “With a shared philosophy that the majority of property loss is preventable-not inevitable-we can make a difference in preventing the frequency and severity of fire… together,” said Michael Spaziani, assistant vice president, manager of Fire Service Programs.
The grant funds will be used to replace an approximately eight-year old digital camera which has since broken and become unrepairable. A high-quality digital camera is essential to fire investigations. The technology and resolution have tremendously increased over the last eight years creating ease of operation and photos with more clarity.
FM Global is at the forefront of commercial and industrial property insurance and loss prevention insuring a third of the world’s Fortune 500 companies. The FM Global Research Campus is located in nearby West Glocester, RI..
