Beautification
The 10th annual Putnam Beautification Day was a huge success, according to Karen Osbrey. There were 92 volunteers. About 120 trash bags were filled and the total weight was at least 1,800 pounds of trash. Five town dump trucks were filled. In addition bulky items like furniture, tires, construction debris, mattresses, etc., were collected. The volunteers separated nip bottles again. In a two-hour period 1,543 nip bottles were collected in a small area of downtown Putnam. Trophy winners include: Most Nips Collected: Team Gerardi Insurance; Best Team: Young Marines; Most Spirited: Boy Scouts; Most Unique Item Found: A vacuum by Team DKH at Home.
