Gerard J. Auger,
Korean war vet
PLAINFIELD — Gerald J. Auger, 88, of Plainfield died March 3, 2020, at Hartford Hospital. He was born March 15, 1931, in W. Hartford. He was the husband of 63 years to the late Margaret Theresa (Cusson) Auger. She died Sept. 9, 2016.
Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean war. He served on the board of directors for Sacred Heart Church in Wauregan. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Gerald was a Scoutmaster with the Brooklyn Boy Scouts Troop 44. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and UConn girls’ basketball fan.
He was the owner of Jerry’s Barber Shop and enjoyed being a barber for more than 60 years.
He leaves his children Steven Auger (Polly) of Moosup, the late Richard Auger (Linda of Woodstock), Sandra LaBelle , Mario Palumbo of Brooklyn, Jeanne Wintrow (the late Phillip) of Dayville, Laurie Ducat (Peter) of Sterling, Ronald Auger of Canterbury, Robert Auger of S. Burlington, Vt., Kenneth Auger (Susan) of Sterling; his 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was March 14 at St. John the Apostle Church, Plainfield, with burial with military honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wauregan. Donations: Knights of Columbus, 10 Railroad Ave., Plainfield, CT 06374. Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson.
Theresa A. Banks
DANIELSON — Theresa A. (Brandick) Banks, 55, died March 9, 2020 after a 19-year battle with breast cancer.
Terri was born June 28, 1964, in Erie, Penn.
Her gentle spirit will be carried on through all the lives she touched. She lived her life with grace, mercy, and compassion. She was co-founder and operator of Clear as Crystal Cleaning Company.
She leaves her parents Joseph and Patricia Brandick of York, Penn.; brother Craig Brandick of Erie; husband Michael Banks of Danielson; five children; 10 grandchildren.

Paul R. Dery
N. GROSVENORDALE — Paul R. Dery, 69, of School St., died March 13, 2020, at Day Kimball Hospital. Born in 1951 in Putnam, he was the son of Doris (Roy) Dery and the late Norman E. Dery.
Mr. Dery worked as a math and computer science teacher for Tourtellotte Memorial High School. He was a member of the Putnam Rotary Club and a member of the Tourtellotte Sports Hall of Fame. He enjoyed chess and fishing. He was a coach for track and cross country as well as girls’ basketball. He leaves his sisters, Jeanne Dery of N. Grosvenordale, and Diane Dery of Eastford. Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 19 in the Valade Funeral Home and Crematory, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, N. Louise A. Guillot
N. GROSVENORDALE — Louise A. (Naum) Guillot, 76, of Red Bridge Rd., died March 11, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital. She was the wife of Laurent “Larry” “Butch” Guillot. They were married Oct. 23, 1965, at St. Joseph Church. Born in N. Grosvenordale, she was the daughter of the late Erakli and Thomaidha (George) Naum. She worked in the Thompson School District, the state DMV. She was a member of the Thompson Senior Citizens. She enjoyed politics, traveling, shopping and Sunday dinners at her daughter’s home. She loved the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the UConn women’s basketball team. In addition to her husband, she leaves children, Gregory Guillot of Putnam, Jeffrey Guillot of Boston, Andrea Cronin (John) of Tolland; sister, Kathryn Peters of Southbridge; grandchildren, Victoria, Delaney, and Olivia Cronin of Tolland, and, Elizabeth, Alexander, Maddie, Kathryn Guillot of Pomfret. She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman Naum and William Naum. A Memorial Meal will be held in the future. David A. Osier
WOODSTOCK — David A. Osier, 78, of Pulpit Rock Road, Woodstock died Feb. 26, 2020, at Hartford Hospital. Born May 5, 1941, in Chicago, he was the son of Helen (MacLaughlin) Osier and Albion V. Osier. He graduated from Woodstock Academy in 1959. He was a graduate of the Pratt & Whitney Apprenticeship Program and worked at Pratt and Whitney as a machinist, then: Electro Fiberoptics/Valtec; AO in Southbridge; CEM; Whitcraft Corporation. He was was a Scientific Instrument maker, 1st for the Physics Department at Harvard University, Cambridge, and then for the Chemistry Department at UConn. He was an artisan blacksmith, a demonstrator at craft fairs and at the Woodstock Fair. He as a lifelong member of the Woodstock Agricultural Society. He belonged to the New England Model Engineering Society for more than 25 years, and participated in model engineering shows,. He proudly exhibited his “Elbow Engine,” a piston-based engine fed by steam. David loved reading, especially history. His deep voice gave resonance when reading aloud at events. He was always ready with a story to tell. A proud gun owner, David was a NRA member, loving the mechanics and craftsmanship of rifles. He was a keen marksman and won awards at target shooting competitions. He was famous for his Maine baked beans. He loved exchanging ideas, visiting museums. He had a tremendous sense of humor. He leaves his wife, Maxine A. Marcy of Woodstock; daughters and spouses, Heather and Chandler Paquette of Woodstock, and Rebecca and Christopher Gee of Woodstock; grandson, Joseph L. Gallo III of Alexandria, Va.; brother and spouse, Stephen and Ilse Osier of Sequim, Wash.; brother-in-law and spouse, Ronald and Jean Marcy of Woodstock;; brother-in-law Robert Marcy of Woodstock; Sable, the family black cat.
