PUTNAM — The team at Lake Road Generating donated nearly 150 meals to Day Kimball Healthcare’s frontline heroes.
They had Renee’s Working Girl Catering Service prepare and delivery freshly made food to the staff in the emergency department, intensive care unit, and medical/surgical unit at Day Kimball Hospital.
“This donation was very timely as our staff is challenged with both an increase in COVID-19 patients, and an increase in patient activity throughout the hospital,” said John O’Keefe, chief nursing officer.
“After being on the frontlines of the pandemic for the past 10 months, this came as a real morale booster for our team," he added.
“The support of our community is very much appreciated – whether it be signs, meals, or donated PPE – and this is a true example of unity and support for our collective efforts,” said Kyle Kramer, CEO.
“These meaningful gestures are representative of community wide respect and appreciation for what we do here at DKH. Our work is hard – it is very hard – and it is well recognized and acknowledged,” he added.
“We are so humbled by the generosity of individuals and local businesses in our community, like Lake Road Generating, who continue to find ways to support our healthcare heroes who are faced with unprecedented challenges every day,” added Kristen Willis, director of Development, Day Kimball Healthcare.
“Generous acts like this remind us that we’re all in this together," she added.
