PUTNAM --- “The Five Senses of Women” exhibit will run through Sept. 30 at the Corridor Gallery at the Putnam Municipal Complex. Free. It features a variety of mediums and techniques from five local artists: Lisa Andrews, Kathy Guertin, Carolyn Nadeau, Laura Moorehead, and Karen Reid. Concert
WOODSTOCK --- Roseland Cottage’s Twilight Lawn Concert at 6:30 p.m. will present the Flamingos, an all-female swing band. Rain date Aug. 2.  Grace Gourmet Food truck will be on site. Bring a pink flamingo or just dress in pink! Join us on the grounds of Roseland Cottage as we flock the Pink House! Anyone with a flamingo or dressed in predominantly pink clothes will be entered in a special drawing—must be present to win. Cosponsored by Historic New England and Woodstock Recreation. All concerts are free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic supper and continue the tradition begun by Henry Bowen, the builder of Roseland Cottage.

Preserve Harvest
PUTNAM --- The Putnam Public Library and the Tri Gable Lea Farm will present “Master the Art of Preserving Your Harvest” from 6 to 7:30 Agricultural educator Mark Gostkiewicz will present info about pickling, canning, freezing and drying. Attendees will receive take-away recipes and links to additional online resources. Register: 860-963-6826.

Concert
WOODSTOCK --- Roseland Cottage’s Twilight Lawn Concert at 6:30 p.m. will present The Triple Double with folky, mellow sounds to covers of popular hits from the ‘60s to the ‘90s, plus original songs. Rain date Aug. 11.  Cosponsored by Historic New England and Woodstock Recreation. Free. Bring a blanket and picnic supper and continue the tradition begun by Henry Bowen, the builder of Roseland Cottage.

Pluck-a-Duck
PUTNAM --- The Putnam Business Association will present Pluck-a-Duck Aug. 11 and 12. This year there will be a Kid Corner from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 in Rotary Park. It will share space with the town's annual Main Street Car Cruise. The next day the ducks will be plucked from a secret location.

PUTNAM --- The town's annual Main Street Car Cruise, featuring some 1700 cars, will be held around downtown Putnam and Rotary Park.

Birthday
POMFRET --- Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp is having a Birthday Party to celebrate 70 years of camp from noon to 5 p.m. noon to 1:30 BBQ lunch, Recognition Awards and Dessert. 3 to 5 p.m. program areas will be open to those who register to participate.. Hay wagon rides and walking tours, explore our trails, check out the first phase of dam repairs or enjoy a view of the pond from the porch.  Bring your fishing rod (catch and release) or sketch pads and supplies for the plein-air art session.  Preregistration required by July 30 via our website (4hcampct.org) or by calling 860-974-3379 for questions or to pay by check.

PUTNAM --- The Town of Putnam and the Putnam Business Association will present the Great Pumpkin Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This community celebration of fall features The Great Pumpkin, craft and art vendors, live music, activities for the kids, and more.

Trick or Treat
PUTNAM --- The town of Putnam and the Putnam Business Association will present the Downtown Trick or Treat from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Main Street. From Riverfront Commons to Union Square, participating merchants and local groups pass out treats.
