PSA prep basketball levels opponents
PUTNAM — Putnam Science Academy’s men’s prep basketball team made a powerful statement in their home opener series, beginning the season with two resounding victories over West Nottingham and Lennoxville.
Game 1: PSA vs. West Nottingham
Nov. 1, the Mustangs started the season with an explosive performance, outpacing West Nottingham in a high-scoring 119-88 victory. Ben Ahmed led the way with an impressive double-double, posting 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jaymen Townsend added 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Sam Osayi contributed 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jaeden Roberts and B. Williams brought intensity to the backcourt with 14 and 13 points respectively, each dishing out 4 assists.
PSA’s depth was on full display, with Adama Tambedou, Nico Pena, Abdou Yadd, Jah Hatchett, Tone Williams, Brayson Green, Warren Keel, and Jamias Ferere all adding points to the scoreboard. The Mustangs’ roster depth and unselfish play set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season.
Game 2: PSA vs. Lennoxville
The following night, PSA returned to the court and showcased its defensive prowess, cruising to a 100-56 victory over Lennoxville. Warren Keel was unstoppable, scoring 17 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting night. Jaymen Townsend continued his strong play with 14 points and 4 rebounds, while Ben Ahmed added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Sam Osayi contributed 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks, anchoring PSA’s paint presence.
Once again, PSA’s entire roster contributed. Parrish Edmond, B. Williams, Abdou Yadd, Brayson Green, Jah Hatchett, Tone Williams, Adama Tambedou, and Jamias Ferere each made an impact, combining for key points, rebounds, and steals. The Mustangs displayed their versatility and defensive strength, forcing turnovers and controlling the game from start to finish.
