PUTNAM --- The 15th annual Dazzle Light Parade hit record numbers Nov. 27.
Parade organizer Gary Osbrey said more than 20,000 spectators lined the streets for the festive, light-filled parade. There were 130 entries.
Osbrey said the “litter-free parade concept has been embraced nicely by the spectators with clean streets after the parade.
Thirty-five volunteers from High Pointe Church in Thompson handed out trash bags donated by The Last Green Valley before the parade. The church's volunteers marched as the last entry grabbing trash bags from the crowd at the end of the parade. We know of no other parade that embraces the litter-free concept," he said.
Next year's parade is already set for 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26.
