Town of Pomfret
Notice of Special
Town Meeting
February 25, 2010
A Special Town Meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Pomfret, Connecticut, will be held in the Cafeteria of the Pomfret Community School, 20 Pomfret Street, in the Town of Pomfret, Connecticut, on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 6:30 PM for the following purposes:
Article 1: To choose a Moderator for said meeting.
Article 2: To see if the Town will approve a Resolution for a STEAP Grant in the amount of $100,000 from the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development for the completion of renovations and improvements to the Old Townhouse, located at 11 Townhouse Drive, Pomfret Center, CT. A copy of said Resolution is available at the Office of the Pomfret Town Clerk.
Article 3: To see if the Town will approve a Resolution for a STEAP Grant in the amount of $150,000 from the State of Connecticut, DEP Constituent Affairs/Land Management to be used for completion of improvements to the Pomfret Recreation Park, located at 576 Hampton Road, Pomfret Center, CT. A copy of said Resolution is available at the Office of the Pomfret Town Clerk.
Article 4: To see if the Town will approve the following amended resolution in substitution for Article 5; that was approved at Special Town Meeting held on December 18, 2008: Resolved that the Town will approve an expenditure not to exceed $600,000.00 for the installation of an approximately 180 kw photovoltaic energy system on the Pomfret Community School, to also include any and all necessary roof replacements and repairs, together with the appropriation and expenditure of such funds; to authorize the issuance of debt instruments by the Town to meet said appropriation and, pending the issue thereof, the making of temporary borrowing for such purposes, and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to take all such necessary action to execute and complete such borrowing.
Article 5: To do any other business proper to come before said meeting.
