PUTNAM --- Day Kimball Healthcare recently received a $1,000 donation from St. Mary’s church in Putnam towards the hospital’s annual giving appeal.
Each year, St. Mary’s outreach committee chooses a number of local and international charities to donate funds to. Day Kimball Healthcare programs and services have been among the recipients for many years. Although this year’s financial hardships made donations difficult for the congregation, St. Mary’s chose to donate to Day Kimball because of its mission to provide high quality healthcare to individuals and families within its 13-town service area. St. Mary’s also supports Day Kimball Healthcare’s Chaplaincy and Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut in addition to Day Kimball Hospital.
This year, the Day Kimball Hospital Annual Appeal will support capital projects to renovate the Putnam Pediatric Center, the Intensive Care Unit waiting room and the purchasing of new site signage for the Hospital.
“It is important to us that we support the local community in the best ways possible,” said Pauline Tetreault, St. Mary’s outreach committee member. “The healthcare services provided by Day Kimball are a vital part of our community; therefore, we feel it is always necessary to support their much needed efforts.”
