Jeannette Cardinal,

N. GROSVENORDALE --- Jeannette (Ravenelle) Cardinal, 77, of First Street, died March 6, 2010, at home. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Narcisse and Dora (Faucher) Ravenelle.
Mrs. Cardinal worked for the former Jacobs Rubber, which became Lydall, Inc. of Dayville and also for Webster Manor. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in N. Grosvenordale where she served as a housekeeper and volunteered for many church activities. She was an avid sports fan and loved animals.
She leaves her brothers, Normand Ravenelle of Thompson and Phillip Ravenelle of Webster; sister, Gertrude Hardy of N. Grosvenordale; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Blain.
The Mass of Christian Burial was March 9 in St. Joseph Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations: St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255. Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
Rachel Hilton,

PUTNAM — Rachel Hilton, 100, formerly of Ella Grasso Apartments, died Feb. 25, 2010, at the Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was born July 15, 1909, the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Johnson) Todd. She moved to Woodstock at the age of 3 and was educated in the one-room School House and Woodstock Academy. She was predeceased by her first husband Laurio Bodo in 1963 and her second husband Roswell Hilton in 1993.
She was a member of the Putnam Congregational Church, active in many church activities. Rachel was a member of the Putnam Women’s Club, The Betty Putnam Chapter #106 Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered many years for the Visiting Nurse blood banks and many years at the Day Kimball Hospital. She worked as a sale clerk at the former Bugbee’s Department Store and Pevner’s in Putnam.
She leaves a daughter, Ann L. Viens; two grandsons, Raymond Viens and Michael Viens; a granddaughter, Lisa Morissette, four great-grandchildren Kayla and Alyce Viens; Jenny and Brittany Morissette. She was predeceased by a brother William Todd and a sister, Martha Day.

Theresa M. Arsenault,

DANIELSON — Theresa (Vachon) Arsenault, 84, of Maple Court, died Feb. 25, 2010, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Louis J. Arsenault. Born in 1026 in Three Rivers, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John A. Vachon, and the late Severina (Gilbeault) Vachon Goff.
Mrs. Arsenault worked for Colts Plastics for many years. She enjoyed bingo, singing, and playing the organ. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 10088.
Theresa leaves her nephew, James Vachon; nieces, Nancy Vachon, Peggy Scamardi, and Martha Philipp; close friends, Joan Lowe, Jim Lowe and his fiancé, and Linda Hery. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Vachon, Theodore Vachon; and her sister, Gertrude Bellavance.

Rose Quayle
BROOKLYN — Rose Marie Quayle, 85, of Brooklyn, formerly of Newburyport, Mass. died March 5, 2010, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the wife of Earl D. Quayle. They were married in 1953. She was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Newburyport, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Ribnick) Sostak. She made her home in Brooklyn since 1969.
She leaves her husband, Earl; sister, Alice Enlund of San Diego; brother-in-law George Quayle and his wife Anna of Michigan; nieces and nephews, Wayne, Eugene, Diana, George, Bryan and Anna and a great-niece Amber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. March 10 in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Newburyport with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newburyport. Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home.
Alice M. Beaudoin,

PUTNAM — Alice (St. Pierre) Beaudoin, 88, formerly of N. Grosvenordale, died March 1, 2010, in Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Laurent Beaudoin who died in 1992. Born in 1921 in Woonsocket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Godin) St. Pierre. She lived in Thompson most of her life.
Mrs. Beaudoin worked as a trimmer for the former Putnam Manufacturing in N. Grosvenordale for 19 years. She retired in 1982. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in N. Grosvenordale.
Alice leaves nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles St. Pierre, and Robert St. Pierre; sisters, Marie Bussiere, Eugene Fournier, and Aurore Champeau.

Bernard Mitchell,
WWII vet
DAYVILLE — Bernard E. Mitchell “Bon Homme,” 89, of Putnam Pike, died March 6, 2010, at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Chausse) Mitchell. She died Feb. 14, 2007. He was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Pascoag, R.I., son of the late Clifford and Clara (Green) Mitchell.
He worked in the laundry business for many years, 27 years at the former Mailhot Cleaners in Danielson and also worked in local textile mills. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U. S. Army, served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He leaves his sons, Bernard G. and his wife Carol Mitchell of Dayville, Lucien H. Mitchell Sr. and his wife Kathy of Plainfield, Ronald C. Mitchell and his wife Marilyn of Killingly; grandchildren, Melissa Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell, Lucien Mitchell Jr., Cory Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Ross Dapsis, Toby Sharkey, Kevin Gaugh, Michael Gaugh and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Mitchell.
Funeral will be at 10:15 a.m. March 11 from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Dayville. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. March 10 at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. April 24 in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military honors.
Patricia Faneuf,

DUDLEY — Patricia (Nachajko) Faneuf, 68, of Ramshorn Rd., died Feb. 23, 2010, at home. Her husband of 21 years, Howard Faneuf, died in 2000.
She was born in Dudley, the daughter of the late Chester and the late Elizabeth (Lemanski) Nachajko. She lived most of her life in Dudley.
She leaves her children Douglas R. Durand of Danielson, Donna M. Healy of Thompson, Daniel C. Durand of Pomfret, Diane E. Breen of Charlton and Daryl R. Faneuf of Dudley; stepsons, Paul Faneuf of MD; Timothy Faneuf of NC; two sisters, Elizabeth Recko and Nancy Pershula both of Thompson; two brothers, Ronald Nachajko of Putnam and Kenneth Nachajko of Barbados; nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Sandra Anthony.

Pauline Beck,

EASTFORD --- Pauline (Warchol) Beck, 91, died March 2, 2010, in her grandson’s home after a long illness. Her husband, Albert E. Beck, died in 1989. She was born in 1919, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Bis) Warchol, and moved to Eastford in 1932. She graduated from Woodstock Academy, Class of 1936. She lived in Eastford and in Southbridge, Mass., her entire life. Mrs. Beck and her husband enjoyed gardening and putting on great holiday meals. She leaves one son, Raymond L. Beck, and his wife, Loretta, of Eastford; grandson, Raymond A. Beck, and his wife, Anne; a great-grandson, Brandon Suprenant, of Eastford. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Warchol.
A Funeral Service was March 8 with burial in New Willimantic Cemetery. Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, Southbridge.
