WOODSTOCK --- More than 700 runners and walkers helped raise more than $13,000 and helped celebrate Judith Nilan and her vision for young adults during the fifth annual Jog With Judy 5-k road race.
One of the race organizers, Susan Rioux, said, "We had a great turnout this year. The weather was perfect and everyone was ready to remember Judy and have a great time running or walking.  We had 720 runners and walkers by the end of the day.  Almost 500 people pre-registered before the race and 221came the day of the race to walk or run."
All money raised by race will go into a special fund called the Judy Nilan Fund.  Any staff member in the Woodstock Public Schools can fill out an application for funds that support character education or drug/alcohol awareness programs.  These are some of the projects that Judy believed in and she had more ideas for helping the students in the school system.  All funds help students to be more positive, confident and obtain good character education skills.
We gave away top female/male runners awards, as well as medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various age divisions.
Rioux added, "It was a great day to be together and remember a special woman."
