Game 1
Cougars-5 Tri-Valley Phantoms -2
The Cougars defense backed up solid pitching performances by Robert Newton and Will Bourgeois; Striking out a combined 8 batters and while allowing only 3 hits. Ben Rumrill had a double and Bourgeois was 2 for 3 with a pair of singles, as well as receiving the win on the mound.
Game 2
Cougars-13 Tri-Valley Phantoms -2
In game 2, the Cougars bats came alive, posting 11 runs of off 5 hits and 5 walks in the first inning. Jesse Alexander went 2-2 with a pair of singles and 2 RBI, Danny Murphy 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 RBI, Ben Rumrill was 2-3 with 2 triples and 3 RBI, Brian Kemp went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles and Robert Newton had a double. The pitching duo of Rumrill and Alexander held the Phantoms to only 2 runs on 2 hits. Rumrill got the win on the mound.
The 14U team’s record is now 10-6 overall and 8-2 in their division.

The 14U Cougars play next  at 1 p.m.  June 6 in their final divisional game against Central Mass Mustangs in Southbridge. The 13U team played in a non-divisional match at 2 p.m. May 29 against RI Reds at Woodstock Middle School.
