DAYVILLE --- Westview Health Care Center is breaking ground for a state-of-the-art, high-tech therapy gymnasium which will contain a new HydroWorx 500 Professional Series Therapy pool by HydroWorx International Inc, fully equipped with a variable speed underwater treadmill, observation windows, swim in place directional resistance jets, multiple therapy work stations and a pool mounted technology package, to accommodate both inpatient and outpatient hydrotherapy services.
Simultaneously, renovations will be taking place to accommodate additional private rooms equipped with flat screen televisions and private bathrooms . Engineered Construction of Plainfield is the project contractor and the project should be finished by October.
The high-tech, cutting edge underwater system will provide the latest therapeutic technology to serve a segment of the population who would benefit by the advantages of water buoyancy, which minimizes the effects of gravity by displacing body weight. The integration of the HydroWorx spa provides an opportunity to accelerate recovery due to an injury or surgery, allowing each patient to exercise more and increase muscle strength in a pain free, low stress and stable environment. Hydrotherapy can alleviate arthritis discomfort, joint pain, chronic pain and fibromyalgia, while aiding to increase circulation and improve endurance.
Westview spokesperson, Laura Lee Crosetti, said, “There are multiple benefits to Hydrotherapy and we are happy to bring this cutting edge rehabilitation venue to northeastern Connecticut, where someone can receive therapy in a buoyant, gravity-reduced setting. Those who face health challenges and need rehabilitation will see the “all-round” benefits in a low impact environment that encourages recovery.”
