join forces
PUTNAM --- Archambault Insurance Associates has announced that it has merged with Leschke-Puffer Insurance Agency, a move that brings together two of northeast Connecticut’s oldest family-owned businesses and creates a better, stronger insurance agency with more choices for their clients.
For now, Archambault’s offices, at 143 Providence St., and 136 Main St. in Danielson, and Leschke-Puffer’s office, at 170 Main St., will remain open. Over the next six months, the two companies will merge operations to improve efficiency and enhance capabilities.
“We’re making a little bit of Putnam history here. This is a unique opportunity for two long-standing local families to come together to make a stronger company right here in Northeast Connecticut,” said Marc Archambault, president of Archambault Insurance. “The big, generic insurance companies may have television ad campaigns, but we have the strength of our connection to the community. The personal service we provide does not cost more than the impersonal service you’ll get from the national insurance brands. We’ve always provided that, but this merger will allow us to do our job even better.”
“This was a terrific fit at the right time,” said Charles Puffer, president of Leschke-Puffer. “Customers that have appreciated our family-style way of doing business will continue to enjoy that level of personal service while at the same time benefit from the improved product offerings and cost efficiencies created by working together.”
Archambault Insurance Associates is an independent, family-owned, full-service agency, which was established in 1928 by Joseph A. Archambault and is now in its third generation of local ownership. Leschke-Puffer, also a family-owned, independent agency, was founded in 1955 and has roots back to 1868. The combined agencies have a staff of 20 insurance professionals serving over 5,000 individual and family clients and 750 commercial businesses in northeastern Connecticut.
