PUTNAM --- Putnam Bank announced the staff promotion of two key employees, Lori Lagace and Brenda Engel.
Lagace, vice president/compliance officer has been promoted to senior vice president/compliance & risk management officer. Lagace joined Putnam Bank in 2007 as a seasoned risk management professional with over 25 years of banking experience.   She Lagace oversees the bank’s compliance and risk programs, including information security, to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and law.   She holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Eastern Connecticut State University. She is a member of the Day Kimball Hospital Woman’s Board, has volunteered for organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  She lives in the bank’s northeast community.
Engel, branch manager of the Griswold branch, has been promoted to assistant vice president. Engel started her career in the banking industry in 1986. She attended Mitchell College, has completed numerous American Institute of Banking classes and holds Series 6, 63 and Life Insurance Licenses. Engel is a member of The William W. Backus Hospital Auxiliary Board, an Advisory Board Member for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Norwich, a captain for the American Heart Walk, founding member of Norwich TRIAD and an active volunteer for the March of Dimes, Tommy Toy Fund and is Committee Chairman for Boy Scouts Troop 74. She currently lives in Voluntown with her husband and two children.
