PUTNAM --- The YMCA of Greater Hartford announces that Woody and Sylvia Danenhower of Pomfret, will serve as general campaign chairpersons of the Regional Community YMCA Capital Campaign, a multi-dimensional effort aimed to realize a new community center with a state-of-the-art health and wellness center in northeast Connecticut. The new Regional Community YMCA, will be a branch of the YMCA of Greater Hartford.
“Sylvia and I are pleased to join this effort to bring a YMCA community center, with a swimming pool, to our region,” said Dr. Danenhower. “My 35 years in pediatric practice in northeast Connecticut has convinced me of the enormous need to expand healthy lifestyle options, not only for my young patients, but for all age levels living here. Offering programs with a central focus on improving our health, coupled with the YMCA values of ‘Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility’ will, without a doubt, change all our lives for the better.”
