Invitation to
Present Proposals
The Town of Pomfret is accepting proposals to provide heavy equipment and equipment operator(s) for ball field site work at the Pomfret Recreation Park. Sealed proposals to include rates for the following equipment with operator: Excavator (min. 20 ton), Dozer, Grader, Roller/Compaction Equipment, and Rock Hound. Also include letters of reference, description of equipment, and any other information demonstrating proficiency with equipment. Proposals will be received by the Town of Pomfret at the Office of the First Selectman, Pomfret Town Hall, Five Haven Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259 until 1:00 PM, Local Prevailing Time, on August 16, 2010.
No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening. The Town of Pomfret reserves the right to waive all formalities or to reject any or all proposals.

Zoning Commission
The Town of Putnam Zoning Commission will hold a meeting on August 18, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. A public hearing will be held on each of the following:
Docket # 2010-12: Jay Bentley (6-12 South Main St. LLC) — Request for a text amendment to the Town of Putnam Zoning Regulations Section 720 Schedule of Uses and Districts to allow by Special Permit in a C-3 Zone Physical Therapy and other Health Related Services. Currently this use is non-permitted in a C-3 Zone.
Docket # 2010-13: Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. — Request for a text amendment to the Town of Putnam Zoning Regulations Article XI (1.) Minimum parking space dimensions. (2.) Minimum Parking Ratio and (3.) Maximum width for access driveways. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review in the Building/Zoning Office during business hours.
