PUTNAM --- Members of Boy Scout Troop 25 attended camp at Philmont Scout Range in Cimmeron, N.M. They were taking part in Venturing Scouting, the co-ed part of Boy Scouts. The Venturing scouts do a lot of high adventure type of activities and the activities are run by the members of the Venturing Crew.
Many of the boys in Venturing Crew 25 are also part of Boy Scout Troop 25. Both groups meet at different times, and they are both sponsored by PUMC.
The Troop 25 Philmont crew members consisted of the three leaders: Eugene Young, Doug Dodd, Bruce Bressette. The Crew leader was Tammy Wakefield and Bryan Young. The Crew members consisted of: Justin Bressette, Austin Dodd, Scott Skowron, Mike Ferron, Hollis Smith, Chris Kelley, Tim Maerkel, and Jaani Barclay.
All 11 of the crew members hiked the 66 mile trek at the ranch. They were on the trail for 10 days where they hiked the tallest mountain yet, Mt. Philips at 11,737 feet.
