PUTNAM — Putnam Bank’s employee team showed their true colors Oct. 1 by dressing in pink to support the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is held every October.
National Breast Cancer Awareness month is an annual health campaign that works to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, and cure.
“Every woman in every community benefits from being aware of the disease,” said Lynn Brodeur, senior vice president and branch administrator for Putnam Bank. “Awareness leads to early detection, and early detection leads to saving lives. Our Pink Day was a fun way to help let women in our communities know we care about them and their health.”
In all, Putnam Bank employees donated $400 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure on Oct. 1. In addition, Putnam Bank continued to promote National Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October with a pink ribbon posted on their website.
