Rosella Ledogar,

DAYVILLE — Rosella G. Ledogar, 78, of Breakneck Hill Road, died Oct. 25, 2010, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She was born April 10, 1932, in Danielson, daughter of Rosario and Delvina (Gingras) Dauphinais.
She was married July 7, 1951, to Edwin R. Ledogar at St. James Church. She devoted her life to the raising and care of her family.
She retired in 1987 from Danielson Curtain.
She leaves her husband Edwin R. Ledogar; daughters, Diane Welz (Bill) of Brooklyn, Sheryl Higgins (Joseph) of Brooklyn, Robin Baker (Richard) of Brooklyn; sons, Edwin Ledogar (Carolyn) of Brooklyn, Michael Ledogar of Brooklyn; sister, Pauline Bissonette of Moosup: 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother in-law and two sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Leo and Robert.

Rita M. LaBonte,

PUTNAM — Rita M. LaBonte, 7,3 of Sabin Street, died Oct. 30, 2010, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry W. “Hank” LaBonte Sr. Born in 1937 in Flint, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Remus and Elisabeth (Langer) Rein.
Mrs. LaBonte was an administrative assistant for Day Kimball Hospital. She was a graduate of Texas Lutheran College that was founded by her grandfather and a member of Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed listening to music, sewing, painting, and restoring antique furniture.
She leaves two sons, David LaBonte and Donald LaBonte both of Brewster, Mass.; two daughters, LuAnn Norris of Lakeview, Iowa, and Elizabeth Trudeau of Wiscasset, Maine; a brother, Victor Rein of Tigard, Org; sister, Lyn Boetcher of Graham, Wash; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Henry LaBonte Jr. who died in 1992.
The Funeral was Nov. 2 in Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Smithfield, R.I. with burial in South Cemetery, Pomfret. Donations: Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.
Carole Williams,

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — Carole Emily Williams, 90, formerly of Pomfret, died Oct. 16, 2010, at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. She was born April 12, 1920, in Woodstock.
She leaves a son Everett C. Williams Jr. (Diane) Lemon Springs, N.C.; daughter Jane Quagliata (Salvatore) of Highland Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren: Jason Williams and his wife Amy Bradley Williams of Sanford, N.C., Joseph Quagliata (Carol) of Orlando, and Carolyn Quagliata of Manhattan, N.Y., five great-grandchildren: Chase Williams, Ashley Poe, Kayla Williams, Sophia Quagliata and Claudia Quagliata. She was predeceased by her husband Everett C. Williams Sr., and a daughter, Dorothy Williams.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 6, at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, with burial following in Grove Street Cemetery. Donations: Charity of one’s choice.
'Chippy' Gilbert,
WWII vet
THOMPSON --- Sylvio A. “Chippy” Gilbert, 83, of Sand Dam Road, died Oct. 26, 2010, at home. His wife of 54 years, Barbara C. (Kleindienst) Gilbert died in 2006.
He was born in Thompson, a son of Wilfred O. and Rose D. (Labossiere) Gilbert. He was raised in Webster and moved to Thompson 60 years ago. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster.. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post # 184 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 654, both in Webster. Mr. Gilbert first worked as a rural route mailman for the Webster Post Office. He then owned and operated Gilbert’s Market in Webster from 1959 to 2006. He also owned a laundromat and two car washes.
He leaves three sons, Michael A. Gilbert (Faye) of Thompson, Ronald M. Gilbert of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Jeremy H. Gilbert of Lowell, Mass.; three sisters, Lorraine Puls and Lucille Gilbert, both of Webster, and Doris Warhurst of Port Orchid, Wash.; two sisters-in-law; a step-granddaughter, Tracy Gustafson of Killingly. Kathleen Barry,

BROOKLYN — Kathleen Marie (Ward) Barry, 54, of Cherry Hill Road died Oct. 22, 2010, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Hartford, daughter of Marie Ward Cote of Brooklyn and the late William Ward.
She lived for several years in Germany while her husband served in the military. She worked several years with disabled children. She attended Batchelder School in Hartford and South Catholic High School in Hartford and was a graduate of Killingly High School in Danielson.
She leaves her mother Marie and her stepfather Paul E. Cote; son Steven M. Barry; brother Timothy P. Ward; three grandchildren, Tyler, Megan and Luke. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Barry in 1997; a brother Michael Ward in 2002. Kathy also leaves a special cousin Gail and her family and a special aunt, Priscilla, she was very close to both.

Muriel Rosso,

BROOKLYN — Muriel Rosso, formerly of Mount Kisco, N.Y., died Oct. 24, 2010, at Westview Nursing Home, Dayville. She was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Mount Kisco, daughter of the late Horace and Ruth (Schlick) Gill.
Muriel started her nursing career as a pediatric nurse in 1946 at Northern Westchester Hospital and was then promoted to supervisor of the IV Team. Later she became the supervisor of the Blood Bank at the hospital and retired in 1991. She was active in the Historical Society in Mount Kisco. Muriel also enjoyed traveling to Europe, Greece, Morocco, Hawaii and across the U.S. She loved animals especially her therapy dog Julie.
She leaves her daughter Susan Townshend (Tim) of Pomfret Center. She was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Brooks and a brother Robert Gill.

BROOKLYN — Lillian A. Viens, 100, of Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, died Oct. 27, 2010. She was born May 12, 1910, in Wauregan, daughter of the late Leonidas and Elizabeth (Gamache) Lacombe. She was the wife of Archie A. Viens who died in 1976.
She leaves her son Raymond P. Viens (Joanne) of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Rutherfordton, N.C.; daughters, Elaine Barbeau Femino (Joseph) of Brooklyn, Jeanine V. Lisee and her spouse Joseph Haggerty Sr. of Bradenton, Fla., and Brooklyn; grandchildren, Roger Viens (Lisa) of Crownsville, Md., Michelle B. Daley (George) of Canterbury, Shelly D. Viens of Cape Canaveral, Marc J. Barbeau of Old Saybrook, Christopher S. Lisee (Georgina) of N. Hollywood, Calif. and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Leonard, Armand and Roland Lacombe and her sister Rita Boucher.
Mrs. Viens devoted her life to the role of hard-working and dedicated homemaker, keeping a clean and organized home. She enjoyed crocheting and gave numerous beautiful handmade afghans to charitable organization such as Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, local churches and more. She had lived at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home since 2002.

Paul D. Wolf,

WOODSTOCK — Paul D. Wolf of Woodstock died Oct. 23, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant. He earned a business degree in 1952 from AIC and had a 32-year career with Mobil Oil.
He leaves his wife Katherine of 53 years, sons: James P. Wolf, David B. Wolf (Martha), Karl J. Wolf (Ellen); six grandchildren.

Geneva White,

THOMPSON — Geneva Clausen (Cross) White, 95, of Thompson, died Oct. 27, 2010, at home. Geneva was a hardy soul who had suffered a brain hemorrhage over a year ago yet remained at her cozy Cape.
She was a member of the Thompson Congregational Church where she sang in the choir for decades and participated in many church activities. Geneva loved flowers and had lovely gardens. She took up painting in later years and leaves many examples of her various forms of artwork as one of her legacies. She worked in the shoe store that she and her husband Elmer owned for over 20 years.
Upon graduation from Woodstock Academy (1932) she worked as a teacher’s assistant at a private school. Geneva was a member of the Board of Directors of the East Thompson Cemetery Association. In later years Geneva traveled through Europe including Norway where her mother was born. She was witty, patient and talented.
Geneva was the daughter of the late Samuel T. Cross and Jorgina (Clausen) Cross. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer M. White; her daughter Jane A. (White) Johnson; a great-grandson Jack David Johnson; her three sisters and a brother. She leaves her son Justin C. White (Judy); daughter Sarah F. White; son-in-law David E. Johnson; grandsons Justin C. White Jr. (Rhonda), Lars A. Johnson (Debra), and Ragnar R. Johnson (Kristen) and five great-grandchildren
