PUTNAM --- Day Kimball HomeCare recently moved their Plainfield Patient Services Office to the former Griswold Regional Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) building at 68 Ashland St. in Griswold.
Day Kimball HomeCare took over the Griswold community visiting nurse services in 2008, when the Griswold Board of Selectmen voted to close the regional VNA agency due to financial strains. The board’s first concern was for continued care of the agency’s patients and selected Day Kimball HomeCare after reviewing its proposal.
“We are very proud that Griswold chose Day Kimball HomeCare for their home healthcare nursing services based on our reputation of providing quality patient care,” said Judith Blackmore, director of Day Kimball HomeCare.
A Medicare-certified home health agency, Day Kimball HomeCare’s medical professionals bring expert skills directly into patients’ houses, allowing the patient the comfort of familiar surroundings. Services provided include IV therapy, wound care, and telemonitoring for the management of acute and chronic illnesses. Programs cover care of the sick, wellness and maternal child health. Individualized care is delivered by RNs, LPNs, and physical, occupational and speech therapists, and home health aides assist with personal hygiene, patient safety and exercise. Medical social workers provide counseling, support and long-term planning. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Day Kimball HomeCare main office is in Putnam, CT. Having two offices allows the agency to serve all of Northeast Connecticut and beyond. Towns served include: Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Eastford, Griswold, Hampton, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson, Union, Voluntown and Woodstock. Services are paid by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurances, self pay and local town funding.
