Blanche A. Lamothe,
former weaver
PUTNAM — Blanche Aurore (Montpelier) Lamothe, 87, of Sabin Street, died March 9, 2011, at Mystic Manor Nursing Care, after complications with cancer. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Thompson, the daughter of the late Ernest and Aurore (Desorcy) Montpelier. Blanche was united in marriage to Raymond R. Lamothe, on June 4, 1949. He died July 5, 1996.
She was a weaver at the former Cluett-Peabody Mills in Grosvenordale, before she dedicated her life as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, dominos.
She leaves her sons, Robert Lamothe (Simonne) of Brooklyn, Richard Lamothe (Christine) of Putnam; her daughter, Linda Bernier (Gerard) of Scotland; seven grandchildren: Chad Lamothe, Holly Mayo (Troy), Melanie Lamothe, Dawn Bernier, Courtney Lamothe, Devin and Emily Bernier; one great-grandson, Benjamin Mayo; two sisters, Jeannette Corriveau, and Yvonne Remillard; one brother, Raymond Montpelier. She was predeceased by five brothers: Ernest, Arthur, Lionel, Armand, and Francis Montpelier, and two sisters: Florida Laporte, and Doris Alix.
A Prayer Service was March 12 at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations: Hospice of NECT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
Rita M. Bonesio,

DAYVILLE — Rita M. Bonesio, 84, of Ware Road, formerly of Avon and Hartford, died March 9, 2011. She was the wife of the late Frank T. Bonesio Jr. who died in 2006. Born in 1926 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Broder) McManus.
Mrs. Bonesio worked as a registered nurse for St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She also worked as the director of nursing at Buckley Convalescent Home in Hartford.
She enjoyed tending to her flowers in her garden, bird watching, and caring for her many dogs. She took great pleasure in the summers she spent on Lake Bungee in Woodstock Valley.
She leaves two sons, Robert T. Bonesio of Woodstock Valley, and Richard J.Bonesio of Hartford; two daughters, Kathleen Bonesio-Bessette of Woodstock Valley and Danielson, and Lynn Bonesio-Peterson of Woodstock Valley; a brother, Robert McManus of Potomac, Md.; and three grandchildren, Scott Bonesio, Ryan Bonesio, and Matthew Frederick.
The Mass of Christian Burial was March 12 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.
Florence Auger,

DANIELSON — Florence L. Auger, 90, of Danielson died March 1, 2011, at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn.
She was born May 16, 1920, in Putnam, daughter of the late Edgar and Lorina (Belanger) Auger. At an early age she moved to Danielson and attended local schools including St. James School.
She was a daycare worker, babysitting for many local children. Miss Auger was also affiliated with the Dempsey Center in Putnam. She worked in many of the satellite programs for local businesses. In 1991 Florence worked for the Senior Aide Program, sizing clothes for the North East Action Committee in Danielson. She was a communicant of St. James Church and a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens.
She leaves family in Connecticut and California and a close friend Dorothy Smith. She was predeceased by a brother Francis G. Auger in 1984.

Beverly ‘Bea’ Benoit,

PUTNAM — Beverly “Bea” Frances (Heath) Benoit, 63, of School Street, died March 8, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital after a three-year battle with cancer.
Wife of James J. Benoit, they were married July 11, 1985. She was born March 4, 1948, in Shawangunk, N.Y., daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Summers) Heath. She worked for Fiberoptics Technology in Pomfret as a light guide builder for 11 years. Beverly had a love for country music and playing the guitar. She would always lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. Bea also loved watching the swans on the French River in Thompson. She enjoyed collecting angels and owls.
Besides her husband she leaves her dog Riley; siblings, Barbara Messier of Putnam, Phillip E. Heath of Putnam, Ethel Mae Heath of Central Village, Albert Heath Jr. of Danielson, Robert Heath of Putnam, Dorothy Vanasse of Putnam; and two brother in-laws and two sister-in-laws. She was predeceased by a sister and a niece Martha Ann Ritchie and Grace Sliva.

David W. Cuff,

CHEPACHET — David W. Cuff, 83, of Chepachet, died March 8, 2011, at home. He was the husband of Eunice (Jones) Cuff. They were married Sept. 4, 1954.
He was born June 20, 1927, in Boston, son of the late James W. and Ruth E. (Plant) Cuff. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree. He received a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Until his illness he was an active member of The Church of the Reconciliation in Webster, where he served on the vestry and as a clerk. His professional societies included American Association for the Advancement of Science, Optical Society, Sigma Si, Plastics Engineering and he was a life member of the ASME and had published several papers in scientific journals. He had worked at Belding-Corticelli, American Optical and Cumberland Engineering.
He leaves in addition to his wife Eunice of 56 years; several cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Betty Ivey of Florida, Herschel Jones, Grace Parris, Verna and Eugene Garren, Norma Jean Jones and Lisa, all of Hendersonville, N.C.
The Funeral was March 14 at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam,, with burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston, later. Donations: Charity of one’s choice.
Walter A. Wrobel,

DANIELSON — Walter A. Wrobel, 100, of Airport Road, died March 8, 2011, at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, Brooklyn. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Lis) Wrobel. She died in 1986.
He was born June 22, 1910, in West Warren, Mass., son of the late Albert and Mary (Libera) Wrobel. Walter made his home in Moosup and Danielson. In 1958 he worked on the construction of the former Anchor Glass in Dayville, and was employed for over 25 years working in the maintenance department and as a tank operator. Walter also worked in the Marriott Stone Quarry, Sterling. He was a talented stone mason. He enjoyed motorcycles.
He leaves his children, Craig Wrobel of Danielson, Gary Wrobel of Dayville, Fred Wrobel of Danielson, Lisa Duchesneau (Bruce) of Montville; siblings Julien Wrobel of Moosup, Sofie Brodeur of Brooklyn; grandchildren Carrie-Ann Hosp, Shawn Walter Wrobel, Shanna Wrobel, Emily Cyr, Elizabeth Wrobel; four great granddaughters; a close family friend Denise Dziadula and her family. He was predeceased by his siblings Helen, Mary, Michael, Matthew, Olga and Josie.
The Mass of Christian Burial was March 12, in St. Joseph Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson.
Lucille S. Lalumiere,
THOMPSON — Lucille S. Lalumiere, 81, of Wrightson Drive, and formerly of Rogers, died March 10, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1929, in New Britain, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Frances (Eastwood) Starr. She graduated from New Britain High School and worked for 25 years in the quality control department at the former Anchor Glass in Dayville. She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Rogers.
She leaves her children, Michael Lalumiere (Susan) of Danielson, Diane Watson (Thomas) of Sterling, Patrick Lalumiere (Cindy) of Danielson and Paula Zadora (Richard) of Thompson; two brothers, Paul Starr (Brenda) of Belmont, N.Y., and Peter Starr (Kathy) of Altoona, Penn.; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband Alfred L. Lalumiere; daughter, Patricia S. Lalumiere; son, Jean Lalumiere and his wife Debra and granddaughter Holly Watson. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. March 16 in Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.

BROOKLYN — Christopher M. Brown of Bailey Street, died at birth March 7, 2011, at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester.
He leaves his parents, Joshua Brown and Ashley K. Meagher, both of Brooklyn; his paternal grandmother, Sarah Brown of Coventry; maternal grandmother, Donna Kania of Brooklyn; maternal step-grandmother, Robie M. Meagher of Dayville; maternal great-grandparents, Robert Kania of Brooklyn, Dolores Kania of Danielson, John Meagher Sr. of Brooklyn, and Mary Thomas of Pomfret; two aunts, Karissa Meagher of Brooklyn and Jillian Brown of Coventry; an uncle, Zachary Meagher of Dayville. Sara Jane Esborn,
NAPLES, Fla. --- Sara Jane Esborn, 70, of Naples, died March 4, 2011, at Avow Hospice. Formerly from Connecticut, she had been a Naples resident since 2008. Sara was a member of East Naples United Methodist Church (ENUMC). She cochaired the activities committee for the Tall Oaks Homeowners Association and was well known for her talents in sewing, embroidery and crafts. She leaves her husband of 51 years, Edward; daughter, Alexa (Michael) Garvey; grandchildren, Sara, Maegan, Michelle, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric; and her brother, Carlton Seybolt.
