Veronica Cimochowski,

BROOKLYN — Veronica (Dudek) Cimochowski, 99, of Brooklyn, died March 24, 2011, at home.  She was the wife of the late John Cimochowski. They were united in marriage April 29, 1939, at St. Joseph’s Church, Dayville. He died May 8, 1999.
Born Feb. 4, 1912, in Thompson, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Agatha (Porzuczek) Dudek.
She was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Killingly Public Schools. The Lord endowed her with a very sharp mind and keen wit. Many years she enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and with her indoor plants and flowers. She enjoyed canning vegetables and fruit. She wrote poetry, enjoyed sewing and did many oil paintings in her later years in life. She took an immense interest in the weather and world events. Two weeks prior to her death she was doing her word jumbles and word finds and prior to her last hospitalization was reading a weekly women’s magazine, crocheting and visiting with family.
She leaves her daughters, Rose and son-in-law Bruce Bousquet of Moosup, Valeria Cooke of Dayville, Joan Cimochowski of Woodstock; her son: John and daughter-in-law Suzanne Cimochowski of Woodstock; eight grandchildren: Lynette Swanson, Christine Stanton, Bruce Bousquet Jr., Jonathan Bousquet, Jayne Bousquet, Julie Michalski, Lindsey Cimochowski, Matthew Cimochowski and six great-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren; a brother: Felix and sister-in-law Jill Dudek of Dayville; sisters-in law: Cecile Dudek; Stasia Dudek. She was predeceased by brothers, Theodore, Stanley, Walter, and sisters, Mary Dudek, Alice Sliva and Helen Rainey.

Robert Blankenship,

BROOKLYN — Robert A. Blankenship, 63, of Wauregan Road, died March 22, 2011, in Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the husband of Jean (Leroux) Blankenship for 30 years.  Born in 1947 in Norwich, he was the son of the late Sterling and Amelia (Tetreault) Blankenship.
Robert began his banking career with the former Norwich Savings Society where he worked for 18 years, serving most of that time as auditor.  He joined the Savings Institute in Willimantic in 1988 as operations manager and retired in 2006 as facilities/security manager.  He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #49.  He enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his wife, he leaves his brother, Sterling Blankenship Jr. of S. Killingly; and his dogs Grace and Dustin. The Funeral was private. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.

William D. Fuller,

DAYVILLE — William Dovey Fuller, originally William F. Miller,  died March 24, 2011, due to an illness. He was born on Feb. 25, 1945, and lived his childhood in Gloversville, N.Y. He then moved to Connecticut after serving in the Armed Forces. He eventually lived  in Dayville where he enjoyed the privacy of his outdoor surroundings. He was employed many years at International Paper of Putnam and retired in November 2009. William loved nature and animals.
He leaves his daughter, Brandylynn (Fuller) Turner of Sterling, and her two children, Paige Fuller and Drake Fuller; a stepson, Keith Collelo of Texas and his two children Haleigh Collelo and Alex Collelo; a stepdaughter, Tina Collelo of Florida and her two children Steven Borden and Makiya Dougherty; younger sister, Sandra Corbett (Michael) of Cheshire; older sister Diane Patten (Jim) of New York; and long-term partner Deborah Howard of Dayville.  William was predeceased by his brother, George Fuller, his mother Doris Fuller, and his father Robert Miller.

DANIELSON — June L. (Desrochers) (Dumas) Riley, 77, of Westfield Avenue, died March 24, 2011, at home after a  battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael Riley. They were married in 2006.
She was born April 16, 1933, in Ballouville, daughter of the late Delphis and Leah (Rowe) Dumas.
June worked as a secretary at United Services for 27 years, and for the superintendent of Killingly Public Schools. She was an avid bowler winning two State Championships. She was a bird watcher and loved her time spent at the beach.
Besides her husband Michael, she leaves three children: Karen Desrochers of Austin, Texas, Susan DiBiasio (Mark) of New Hartford and Charles Desrochers of Danielson; six grandchildren, two stepchildren; siblings: Delphis Dumas Jr. of Vernon, Jimmy Dumas of North Carolina, Joan Couture of Danielson, Janet Girard of Dayville. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeanne Freney.

Clarence Deslauriers,

GROSVENORDALE — Clarence F. Deslauriers, 73, Rachel Drive, died March 23, 2011, in New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.  He was the husband of Theresa Deslauriers for 53 years.  Born in 1937 in Webster, he was the son of the late Raymond and Florestine (Mainville) Deslauriers.
Mr. Deslauriers worked as a supervisor in the gloss department of American Standard in Plainfield for over 30 years.  He later worked as a supply handler for Crabtree & Evelyn.  With his wife Theresa and family, Clarence owned and operated Wings and Things pet store in Grosvenordale where they specialized in tropical fish and raising birds.
Mr. Deslauriers was a lifetime member of the Thompson Little League where he volunteered as a coach, team manager and the concession manager and served as the league vice president and on the board of directors for over a decade.  He was instrumental in helping to develop the athletic fields on Red Bridge Road.  He also volunteered for his son’s Boy Scout Troop.  Clarence enjoyed making crafts, models, and puzzles and enjoyed attending hot air balloon festivals.  In 2007, Clarence achieved a lifelong dream on his 50th wedding anniversary by his son’s taking him and his entire family to Disney World.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Norman Deslauriers (Lynn) of N. Grosvenordale, Bernard Deslauriers (Elaine) of Thompson, and Thomas Deslauriers Sr. (Alicia) of Putnam; four brothers, Lucien Deslauriers of Escondido, Calif., Edgar Deslauriers of Putnam, Richard Deslauriers of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Donald Deslauriers of Fabyan; a stepbrother Leonard Guertin of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Holly, Kevin, Nicole, Tom Jr., Katlyn, and Sherry; a great grandson, Tyler; and his dog Ginger.

PLAINFIELD — Rita L. Kamuda, 86, of Ledgewood Acres, died March 22, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was born June 3, 1924, in Smithfield, R.I., daughter of the late Wilfred and Laura (Preavy) Joyal.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church Wauregan. She was a talented seamstress, loved to knit and crochet, an avid bingo player who enjoyed the casino. She always enjoyed watching professional golf and loved to dance in her younger days. Rita liked to reminisce of her employment at Electric Boat as a welder during World War II.
She worked for the State of Connecticut as an aide in a group home for 12 years prior to her retirement.
She leaves her children: June Vivigatz (Peter) of Plainfield,  Susan Kamuda and her husband Harry Porter of Arundel, Maine, Michael Kamuda and his companion Mary Riley of Plainfield; grandchildren: Karen LeSage, John LeSage, Tammy Baker, Thomas Caffrey IV, Amy Durocher (Thomas), Troy Kamuda, great-grandchildren: Justin LeSage, Elijah Stone, Nathaniel Caffrey, Brittany Chabot, Jessica Chabot, Ethan Durocher and Bethani-Luanne Durocher. She was predeceased by her daughter Eva LeSage and a grandson Timothy LeSage.

Joan M. Soucy,

BROOKLYN — Joan M. Soucy, 64, of Robert Street, died March 25, 2011, at the Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marie (Chabot) Soucy. Joan was born Sept. 13, 1946, in Danielson, and was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson.
Her last employment was at Foxwoods, working in housekeeping for eight years; she had also worked at Danielson Curtain Company for 23 years. Joan was an avid collector of things. She enjoyed watching wrestling and caring for her cats.
She leaves a brother, Armand Soucy of Brooklyn; sister Doris Soucy of Brooklyn;  cousins including Barbara Bousquet of Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her brother Alfred Soucy in 1969.

Thomas ‘Wiggs’ Deary,

WEBSTER — Thomas F. “Wiggs” Deary, 89, formerly of Linwood Street, died March 19, 2011, in Lanessa Extended Care.  His wife of 49 years, Irene M. (Grzyb) Deary, died in 2000.
He was born in Dudley, the youngest son of Edward J. Deary, Jr. and Mary A. (O’Brien) Deary, and lived in Dudley and Webster all of his life.  He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1939.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Deary was a milkman for Deary Brothers in Dudley for many years. He then worked as a delivery man for Empire Laundry in Webster and also for American Linen in Worcester, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. Louis Church. In his younger years, he played semipro football with the Webster Colonials. He was active in the Little League as a coach and an umpire.
He leaves a son, Michael E. Deary (Vikki) of Woodstock; two daughters, Judith D. Chabot (William) of Dalton, Mass., and Karen A. Consiglio (John) of Colchester; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Esther Grzyb of Webster. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward and Charles Deary.

Earl H. Hazzard,

WEBSTER — Earl H. Hazzard, 64, of Mill Street, died March 16, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He was born in Southbridge, son of the late Sidney C. Sr. and Esther Greene) Hazzard and lived in Webster most of his life.  He was a supervisor at Ken Wool in Rhode Island.
Earl was a U.S. Army, Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart.  He was a member of the PNA in Dudley and the VFW in Putnam. 
He leaves his wife of 39 years, Sharon A. (Bessette) Hazzard of Webster; one son, Pedro Hebert of Webster; two stepsons, Christopher Couture of Webster and Alex Sierra of Webster; 13 daughters, Tammy Gevry of Webster, Esther Aldarawcheh of Nashville, Kim Dejesus of Southbridge, Nola Parmentier of Putnam, Karen Greenwood of Webster, Tina Andino of Southbridge, Cindy Nunez of Southbridge, Benita Hebert of Webster, Amy Melendez of Putnam, Erica Hebert of Oxford, Kathy Dion of Putnam and Laura Hebert of Virginia, Lynn Casagranda of Florida; one brother, Sidney C. Hazzard Jr. of Southbridge; four sisters, Ida Lamountain of Webster, Mary Hebert of Woodstock, Elizabeth Cable of Providence and Carol Warwick of New York; 33 grandchildren.

Stephen Salvas,

ELLINGTON — Stephen Craig Salvas, 59, of Ellington, died March 23, 2011, at home.
Steve was the son of Blenda (Lehtinen) and William Salvas Sr. Steve was born in Hartford and a long time resident of Thompson. He graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School and Manchester Community College. He worked at Sheppard Steel as a yard foreman for many years. During his youth he rose to become an Eagle Scout. He was truly a Good Samaritan, an avid animal lover, fisherman, motorcyclist and NASCAR fan. He volunteered as a Little League coach and soccer coach in Woodstock for years. He loved his home and being outside.
He leaves his fiancĂ©e Linda Tolisano “Vercelli” of Ellington; daughter Tara L. Salvas of Mystic; son Justin K. Salvas (Sandra) of Park City, Utah; two brothers William Salvas Jr. and Dan Salvas; sister Blenda Salvas. He was predeceased by his wife Judith (Keith) Salvas.
A Memorial Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. April 2 at The Bidwell Tavern, 1260 Main St. Coventry, with burial in the spring at Barlow Cemetery in Woodstock.

SEBASTIAN, Fla. — Harvey "Harv" C. Young, 60, of Sebastian, died March 11, 2011.
He was born in Providence, a son of Flora B. Young  and the late Howard C. Young. He spent his younger years mostly in Pascoag, R.I. He was a devoted Christian who loved his church. He was a lifelong carpenter, a loving person with a heart of indescribable depth, gifted in his capacity to charm and draw people to himself.
Besides his mother, he leaves six brothers and sisters, Mary Ducat of Putnam, Jerri Clifford of Killingly, Fay Moulton of Pomfret, Daniel Young of Sebastian, Howard Young of Killingly, and Jack Young of Putnam; 21 nieces and nephews; his cat Mr. Jingles; dog Wyatt; lifelong friends Robin and Billy of Sebastian, Jim of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Carmine of Jupiter, Fla., Dave of Putnam, Steve of Harrisville, R.I.
His Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. April 2 in the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, Rt. 44, Greenville, R.I.
