PUTNAM --- Putnam Bank Chairman and CEO, Thomas A. Borner, and his wife, Kathy, recently took part in a Habitat for Humanity build in San Diego and said they were proud to join the volunteer effort to leave a tangible and permanent gift to the San Diego community.
The recent build was sponsored by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) as part of their annual convention held this year in San Diego.
The Borners, who are active supporters of Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut, are very familiar with the Habitat tradition of giving a hand up, not a hand out, to a deserving working family. Borner said he and his family are looking forward to working on the upcoming build in Brooklyn, which is scheduled to begin later this spring.
Over the years Putnam Bank has provided a leadership role in Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut by the extraordinary efforts of its staff in serving in a number of volunteer positions within the organization.
