Alliance connects
with local cultural
sectors, progresses
After a working forum last week, the Northeast Cultural Alliance’s is moving on to the next step in Phase II by concentrating on four areas: Infrastructure & Governance, Marketing & Public Relations, Services & Community Events and Funding & Resource Development.
In an overview of the 2010 Arts and Cultural Assessment, the 40 people attending identified three issues: networking opportunities, support from their peers in the cultural community and information on how to run a business.
The Northeast Cultural Alliance looks to broaden the horizons of the region’s existing creative enterprises, its creative workforce to professionally develop and broaden cross-sector relationships; to strengthen the community’s assets and resources by creating well-defined focus and raising awareness of the region’s existing cultural sectors. Representatives came from seven of the 12 towns in the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments; however, representatives from each of the the 12 towns are needed. The alliance includes: Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson, Union and Woodstock. Please send any inquiries about joining task force initiatives or becoming a town representative to Ellen Silbermann, This email address is being protected from spambots.
