PUTNAM --- March 30 was not just National Doctors’ Day, it was also the date Day Kimball Healthcare dedicated its new Physician Hall of Fame. It's in a corridor along the former main entrance to the hospital. It honors doctors who have given 25 years or more of service to the hospital. Pictures of 53 doctors line the walls, as well as group shots of the staff physicians throughout the years, and portraits of the Medial Staff Presidents. The theme of the occasion was “A day of thanks for a lifetime of giving.” When Day Kimball opened in 1894, there was one physician on staff—Dr. Seldom Overlock—now there are nearly 300.  Day Kimball President and CEO Robert Smanik said the Hall of Fame is a well-deserved tribute.  “Health care is a very personal service, and what sits at the heart of that, is the patient/physician relationship.”
