WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Academy’s Music Department will present a springtime musical, "The Music Man," May 12 through 15 in the Bates Auditorium. Tickets may be reserved by calling 860.963.6592 x 152.
Amy Ranta, director of Woodstock Academy’s Performing Arts,will direct. Over 30 talented students will take part. Senior Lucas Duncan, plays the lead character, con-man “Harold Hill” in one of his last performances at Woodstock Academy before reporting on June 20 to Army basic training in Fort Benning, Ga. Also co-starring ic is Jessica Mauro. Jessica, a sophomore at Woodstock Academy, whose previous performances include the American High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall, will delight audiences with her portrayal of the town librarian “Marion Porro,” as she wins over the heart of the infamous “Harold Hill.” Lauren Churchill, director of Music Performance, will conduct the entire cast during the show along with a pit orchestra made up of 15 current Academy students, music department alumni, and professionals from the community.
