The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) has debuted its new volunteer program – The Last Green Valley Rangers.
TLGV Rangers are trained and enthusiastic people who offer presentations and conduct outreach to the general public.
Each ranger is available to deliver programs to social and civic groups, in addition to representing TLGV at region-wide events like fairs and festivals.
To date, eight people have completed the TLGV Ranger Training Program.
TLGV will add more such representatives over the next few months. Rangers commit to at least one community activity or presentation per year and must be comfortably versed in TLGV’s mission, message and benefits.
If you are interested in becoming a TLGV Ranger, please contact Bill Reid, director of Outreach Programs and Chief Ranger at 774-3300 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. All rangers receive free training and background materials.
TLGV Rangers are delivering a number of interesting programs to groups across the 35-town region of the National Heritage Corridor.
“The Last Green Valley – It’s Where You Live!” is a program with wonderful photographs that highlights those unique qualities that inspired Congress to name the region a National Heritage Corridor. “Connecting the Drops: Source to Sea Through The Last Green Valley” takes people on a “visual” paddle down rivers and streams, through ponds and lakes, all the way to Long Island Sound and speaks to the importance of good water quality to everyone living here. The TLGV Rangers will also bring a program about historical figures from The Last Green Valley to groups. “Notable and Notoriou”s is an entertaining offering about statesmen, soldiers, colorful characters, entrepreneurs, medical marvels and more.
Each program is about 25-30 minutes in length and uses incredible photography to bring the subject to life. To book one of these programs, please contact Reid at 774-3300 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
