Anne Abry,
case manager
THOMPSON — Anne Whitman Abry, 80, of Thompson, died Jan. 11,  2012, at home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1931, in New York, N.Y., daughter of the late Reginald and Adelaide (Flint) Whitman. She attended the Chapin School in New York and Barmore Junior College in New York.
Anne worked as a case manager, supervisor and then as director of the State Home Care Program at Tri-Valley Elder Services in Dudley. She was a member of the Geriatric Providers Council comprised of elder care agencies serving the great Milford area and the Blackstone Valley.
A resident of Thompson for 34 years, Anne was a board member for the Friends of the Thompson Library, former Vice President of the New England West Highland White Terrier Club, a member of the Thompson Historic Society, the West Highland White Terrier Society of CT, and the Thimble Club.  As a board member of the Quinebaug Valley Community College, Anne raised money to grant scholarships and served as a Learning In Retirement liaison. Anne was a champion of animals and a generous supporter of the Animal Rescue League, the Doris Day Animal League, PETA, Defenders of Wildlife, the Humane Society, and the ASPCA.
Anne was a dynamic woman of great intelligence and quick wit. She and her family lived in Spain for many years where she became fluent in Spanish and raised Irish Wolfhounds. While abroad she also mastered French, Italian and German. In her memoirs, Anne wrote that she would like to be remembered for her ability to enjoy life and her compassion for all living creatures. 
She leaves her children Cynthia Abry of Hoschton, Ga., Elaine Abry of Wenham, Mass., Charles Abry of Boston, Jennifer Abry Goldstein of Newburgh, Ind., Jonathan Abry of Roswell, Ga., Scott Abry of Greenwich; two nephews Larry Whitman of Baltimore, and Brad Whitman of Wynnewood, Penn.; 17 grandchildren and her partner Joseph Gibbons.
 A memorial service celebrating Anne’s life will be at 1 p.m. June 10 at the Thompson Congregational Church. G. ‘Moe’ Corbeil,
Air Force vet
COVENTRY — Gerard Maurice “Moe” Corbeil, retired plant manager of National Electric Coil of Columbus, Ohio, auction hunter and outdoor enthusiast, husband of Celinda A. (Whitford) Corbeil, died April 7, 2012, at Hartford Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1939, in  Wauregan,  the son of the late Cleophas and Blandine (Herbieux) Corbeil. He graduated in 1959 from Putnam Trade School/Ellis Tech in Killingly. He served in the Air Force (SAC) from 1960-1964 as an aircraft engine mechanic with a tour in the Azores.  Following his service he remained in Columbus.
He and his wife Linda returned to Vernon in 1995 and subsequently built a home in Coventry. 
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Maurice Corbeil and stepchildren Jennifer (Kelly) Charlonne (Alan), Paul Kelly (Lynn), Catherine (Kelly) Napolitano, John Kelly (Jennifer), Robert Kelly (Sheryl); 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Lorraine Czeluzniak (Bill) of Columbia, and Leah Barbeau (Paul) of Mansfield. He was predeceased by sisters Lucille Caya and Lillian Morin; son-in-law Carmine Napolitano.  Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. April 12 at Gagnon and Costello 33 Reynolds St., Danielson, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. April 13  at St. James Church, Danielson, followed by burial at All Hallows Cemetery, Moosup, with military honors. Jeanne Bussiere
WILLIMANTIC — Jeanne Bussiere, 65, of Card Street., formerly of Putnam, died April 7, 2012, at home.
Born in 1946 in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Jean Louis Bussiere and the late Marie (St. Pierre) Bussiere.
Jeanne Bussiere was a workshop assembler at the Dempsey Center.  She liked to sew, go bowling, hooking rugs, and participated in the Special Olympics.  She enjoyed spending time with her cat, “Smokie.”
She leaves her brother, Thomas Bussiere (Lisa) of Salem, Ind.; sister Connie Knight (Randy) of Sterling Heights, Mich..  She is predeceased by her sister, Debbie Bussiere. 
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jeanne’s family for a funeral service at 10 a.m. April 17 in Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Grosvenordale. Donations: “P.A.W.S”, PO Box 191, Eastford, CT 06242.

Mattie L. Clough
CRESTVIEW, Fla. — Mattie L. (Cox) Clough, 79 of Crestview, went to be with her Father and Mother and our Lord on March 27, 2012, at Parthenon Health Care in Crestview.
Mattie was born May 30, 1932, in Paul, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Mattie (Hooks) Cox.
Mattie loved to sew and go fishing. She also enjoyed playing with and raising her grandchildren. She would drop everything to help out a friend or one of her children. She also enjoyed knitting and crafts. Her biggest joy was spending time down by the river.
She raised five children, Geri Cole of Oklahoma, John, who lives in Woodstock with his wife Karen, Deb Kazes, who lives in Wallingford, CT with her husband Dan and David and Bobby, of Pensacola, Fla.

Donald E. Doyle,
WWII vet
DANIELSON — Donald E. Doyle, 88, of Danielson, died April 7, 2012, at the Westview Health Center in Dayville. He was the husband of Jeannette (Savoie) Doyle. They were married July 4, 1946.
He was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Danielson, son of the late John and Anna (Grimes) Doyle.  Don was co-owner and operator of C & D Clean Up Service in Danielson for over 25 years. He also worked for the Killingly School System as a material expediter for over 30 years.  He was a veteran WWII serving with the U.S. Army.  He had made his home in the Killingly area all his life, was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. He enjoyed woodworking and in his later years painting with acrylics.  He took pride in the care of his yard and always had a great outlook on life.
He leaves his wife Jeannette; his children Gary Doyle (Charlotte) of Danielson, Kathleen Magalis and her fiancĂ© David Mulford of Brooklyn; grandsons Patrick Magalis and Sean Doyle.  He was predeceased by a grandson Ryan Doyle, a brother Francis Doyle, and a sister Irene Cutler. 
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. April 11 in St. James Church, Danielson.  Interment will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations: Ryan Doyle Scholarship Fund, c/o Sean B. Robert J. Fontaine,

PUTNAM — Robert Joseph “Pops” “Bob” Fontaine, 90, of Woodside Street died April 2, 2012. He was the husband of Pauline (Ziemski) McKissick Caron Fontaine.  Born in 1912 in Worcester, he was the son of the late Leo and Marie (Thibodeau) Fontaine.
Bob worked for two years at Leo & Giffords machine shop making parts for the war, and then worked for 47 years at Linders Autoparts Recycle Center.  He was a 32-year colon cancer survivor. He donated his time to the NECT Relay For Life and for the last five years, he sold luminaries in the luminary booth.  He enjoyed bowling, country music, square dancing, traveling, reading, cars, wood working, and yard work.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Raymond Fontaine (Sheryl) of Warwick, Mass., Joan Dillon (Mike) of Lancaster, Penn., Ruth Makowski of Leciester, Mass., Sarah Millis of N. Oxford, Mass., Bradford Fontaine of Worcester, and Marylou Ferrante (Guy) of Millbury, Mass.; stepchildren, Linda Fitzgerald of Danielson, and Marion Appleton (Christ) of Thompson; brothers, Richard Fontaine of Woodstock, Harold Fontaine of California; 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Fontaine and a stepson Dana “Woody” McKissick.

Lesa J. McElhaney,

DANIELSON — Lesa J. McElhaney, 48, of School Street, died April 5, 2012. 
Born in 1963 in Washington, Penn., she was the daughter of George and Phyllis (Gray) McElhaney.
Lesa worked as an ophthalmology technician for Norwich Ophthalmology Group.
In addition to her parents, she leaves her son, George J. Cote of Danielson; brothers Phil McElhaney of Maine and Tom McElhaney of Vermont; sisters, Amy McElhaney of Pennsylvania and Georgeann McElhaney of Colorado; nieces and nephews.

Constance Chaput
WEBSTER — Constance E. (Braman) Chaput, 73, formerly of Eddy Street, died April 7, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Her husband, Normand Chaput I, died in 2004. 
She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Frederick and Stasia (Sledzik) Braman.  She lived and raised her family in N. Grosvenordale, before moving to Webster seven years ago.  She was a graduate of St. Louis High School and was a retired telephone operator, having worked at Commerce Insurance for over 15 years.
She leaves three sons, Normand Chaput II (Suzanne) of Quaker Hill, David Chaput of Webster, Edward Chaput (Sherry) of Vero Beach, Fla..; three daughters, Donna Henley of Dudley, Melissa Rilkoff (Ed) of Sandwich, Mass., Rebecca Poirier of Charlton; a sister, Doris Corbin; 14 grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ed Braman and Fred Braman, and by a sister, Beatrice Constantine.
A Funeral Mass was April 11 in St. Louis Church, Webster, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, N. Grosvenordale. Donations: St. Louis Endowment Fund. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, Webster. 

Marybeth Frazier
N. GROSVENORDALE — Marybeth Frazier, 52, of N. Grosvenordale, fiancĂ©e of John Carr, died April 3, 2012, at home.
Born Aug. 22, 1959, in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Theresa and Burton Frazier.
Marybeth lived in N. Grosvenordale with her partner John. A graduate of Windham High School, she enjoyed dancing and antique cars. She especially liked to spend time with her younger sister, Marion.
She leaves a son Allen Frazier and was predeceased by a son Vinnie Frazier. She also leaves brothers, Francis, Burton, Richard and Clint and sisters, Debbie, Roberta, Marion and Christine.
