Making a Point
The Northeast Communities Against Substance Abuse used a wrecked car to drive home the dangers of drinking and driving and to raise money for its upcoming drinking and driving campaign. Bob Brex, NECASA executive director, said more than $3,100 was raised April 27 including $500 from Putnam Police and $500 from Putnam Bank. Longmeadow Automotive donated the upside down wreck. The fund-raiser was an idea from NECASA board member Jim Rivers of Pomfret. Brex is in the overturned car. Linda Lemmon photo.
