Birthday show for the
‘cute’ Beatle
PUTNAM — In celebration of the 70th birthday of Paul McCartney this June, along with the 30th anniversary of his 1982 critically acclaimed album “Tug of War,” The Theatre of Northeastern Connecticut at the Bradley Playhouse presents “One Sweet Dream: The Paul McCartney Experience!” as they embark on “The Hundred Years Tour” for 2012.
The performance is at 8 p.m. June 15 and June 16 at Bradley Playhouse. All seats are $25.00 and are general admission. Tickets are available on line at www.thebradleyplayhouse.org or by calling 860-928-7887. They may also be purchased at Wonderland Books, Victoria Station Café, or at the playhouse, all in Putnam. Tickets may also be available at the door. Beer and wine will be available at this performance with proper ID, and provided by J.D. Coopers.
This concert will showcase McCartney’s legendary song catalog with both The Beatles, his 1970’s band “Wings” and the “Tug of War” album including “Take It Away” and the #1 Stevie Wonder duet “Ebony & Ivory”. Also, in special recognition of the 45th anniversary of “Sgt. Pepper”, McCartney’s contributions from the album will be included in the performance.
Mike Miller has entertained audiences as Paul McCartney here and abroad for 20 years. His uncanny interpretation as “the cute one” has earned him national media acclaim.
“One Sweet Dream” has also raised money for charitable causes including “The Make a Wish Foundation” and “The oral Cancer Foundation” with a special tribute concert to George Harrison on the 10th anniversary of his death.
