THOMPSON — The Marianapolis Preparatory School Math Team ended the season on a high note, tying for first place in the small school division at the New England Tournament in April.
There were 15 schools competing in the small school division and 47 competing in the tournament.
In order to qualify for the New England Tournament, the team placed third in the small school division during the Connecticut State Math Meet on April 3.
Harry Tong was the top scorer on the Marianapolis team at the state meet and won a top underclassmen award.
In addition, four members of the team - Alex Yang, Mike Yang, Harry Tong and Bill Wei - were named to the Connecticut American Regions Math League team.
They will be on a team comprised of other top math students from around the state, competing against teams from across the country.

The four young men traveled travel to Penn State University in June for the competition.
