Claire E. Adiletta,
active in community
THOMPSON — Claire Elizabeth Fischer Adiletta, 87, of Vernon Lane, died July 10, 2012 ,at home.  She was the wife, for over 64 years, of the late Dr. Joseph G. Adiletta.  Born in 1924 in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine (Towey) Fischer.
Mrs. Claire Adiletta attended New York University School of Engineering, where she studied aeronautical engineering and where she met her future husband, Dr. Joseph G. Adiletta. Claire believed in the value of education and she instilled in her children the desire to pursue advanced learning. Mrs. Adiletta worked at the Bank of China in New York City before she began her second career of raising her six children and supporting her husband in his successes.
Mrs. Adiletta was also very active in the community, having served with the American Red Cross and Pro Christo in Riverside. When the family moved to Thompson, she helped organize the Visiting Nurse Association, which became the Northeast District Department of Health. She was a driving force in the League of Women Voters, served on the Women’s Board of Day Kimball Hospital, and was an early member of Opera New England, now known as Performing Arts of Northeastern Connecticut. Claire was a Cub Scout Den Mother for her five sons while in Riverside and Thompson.
She and Dr. Adiletta were members of the Cotillion Club which organized spectacular dining and dancing events. She loved to dance, to garden, to play bridge, casual golfing with her friends, and lively political discussions. She will be remembered for her smile, her poise, her compassion and her generosity.
She leaves her sons, John Adiletta (Barbara) of Bernardsville, N.J.;  William Adiletta (Susan) of Cranbury, N.J.; Joseph Adiletta (Dawn) of E. Woodstock, Mark Adiletta ( Debra) of Fairport, N.Y.; Matthew (Karen) Adiletta of Bolton, Mass.; daughter Patricia Brigman (Jeffry) of Elm Grove, Wisc.; sister, Helen Fischer of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren: Joseph (Erin) Adiletta of Cambridge, Mass.; Julie Adiletta (Dave) Boyle of Severna Park, Md.; Christopher (Joy) Adiletta of Bothell, Wash.; Anthony (Lauren) Adiletta of Ewing, N.J.; Dan (Laura) Adiletta of Thompson, April Adiletta of Cranbury, Jeffrey (Samantha) Adiletta of Kingspoint, Ga.. Garrett Brigman and Logan Brigman of Milwaukee, Cara Brigman of Elm Grove, Blake Brigman of Milwaukee, Elyise Brigman of Elm Grove, Christopher Adiletta of Omaha; Nichole Adiletta, of Albany, N.Y.; Mark Adiletta of Syracuse, N.Y., Matthew, Andrew, Jack Thomas and Kathryn May Adiletta of Bolton, Mass.; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adiletta was predeceased by her brothers, William and John Fischer; her sisters, Mary Bell, Katherine Moseley, Joan Popylisen, and Patricia Weber.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. July 20 in Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering begins at 10:30 p.m. July 21 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Joseph Church, N. Cecelia LeClair
PUTNAM — Cecelia G. LeClair, 85, of Putnam, died July 10, 2012, at Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was the wife of Raymond LeClair.
She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Webster, daughter of the late Edward and Harriet (Shaw) Flibbert.
In addition to her husband Raymond of 66 years, she leaves her sister-in-law Helen Flibbert of Dudley; nephews Gerald Flibbert, David Flibbert; niece Debra Toporoff; godson Paul Standrowicz.

Ruth E. French,

EASTFORD — Ruth E. French, 84, of Eastford, wife of the late Milton “Ken” French, died July 12, 2012, at Day Kimball Hospital. She was born in Stafford Springs, daughter of the late Earl and Ruth (Gildemeister) Witt.
Ruth had worked as a school teacher in Ashford, Woodstock and Chaplin. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed vacationing in Vermont and her cats.
She leaves five children, Earl French (Karen), George French (Christine), Dwight French (Lisa), Harmon French (Melinda) and Nancy LaFleur and her former husband William; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; brother, Allan Witt (Patricia); sister, Lucille Goodhall.
The Funeral was July 16  at the First United Methodist Church, Stafford Springs, with burial in  Eastford Baptist Cemetery. DANIELSON — Melanie Elaine (Maheu) Aulerich, 65, died July 7, 2012, in the ICU of Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam.
She was born Feb. 3, 1947, in Putnam, daughter of the late Wallace H. and Dorothy M. (Flagg) Maheu.
Painting and crocheting were two of her loves.
She leaves her husband of 13 years, Charles H. Aulerich of Danielson; daughter, Tobie and Tom Smith of Hebron; son Tracy David Senecal of Putnam; daughter Gwen A. Aulerich of Pomfret; brother, Darin and Denise Maheu of Putnam; brothers-in-law James Wheeler of Glastonbury, John Aulerich (Jane) of Rhode Island; nieces and nephews including her niece Courtney and Steve Anderson of Lafayette, Calif., niece Kyrstin and Bryce Nihill of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., nephew and godson Wallace and Staci Wheeler of Florham Park, N.J.,nephew Ryan Maheu of New York, N.Y., nephew Kyle Maheu of Putnam. She was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Dotty Maheu, her brothers, Wallace and Todd Maheu; sister, Sharon (Maheu) Wheeler, and nephew James Wheeler Jr.

CHAPLIN —Gertrude E. (Linteau) Nadeau, 80, of Chewink Road, formerly of Putnam, died July 12, 2012, in Regency Heights of Windham.  She was the wife of the late Lodien D. “Pete” Nadeau Sr.
Born in 1932 in Franklin, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Armand and Marie (Baron) Linteau.
Mrs. Nadeau was a homemaker who enjoyed doing word searches and shopping.  She was an avid UConn Huskies girls’ basketball team fan.
She leaves her daughters, Linda Sargent of Chaplin, Theresa Saracina (Frank) of New Britain, and Brenda Miller (Marc) of Putnam; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was the last of her siblings to die

Susan Ennis
Wilcox
BROOKLYN — Susan Ennis Wilcox of Brooklyn died at UMass Hospital in Worcester July 11, 2012, following a brief illness.
She was born May 7, 1945, in Putnam the daughter of  A. Morrison and Evelyn (Eggers) Ennis, who predeceased her. She was married to the Rev. John Wilcox on June 26, 1981..
Susan graduated from Killingly High School in 1963 and Central Connecticut State College in 1967. She taught geometry and algebra at Killingly High School. She was noted for her compassion for her students and her interest in their extracurricular activities. She was Killingly High School’s number one sports fan. Susan was an avid fan of the UConn women’s basketball team and the Boston Red Sox. Susan was an excellent cook who made the best carrot cake in the world. She loved to quilt and make gifts for her family. She was involved in Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star. Susan was active in the life of the Federated Church of Christ in Brooklyn, where she served as a deacon and a member of the Women’s Group.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a brother, Charles Ennis of Brooklyn; sister Kathryn Stellitano (F. Steven) of Brooklyn; brother, John Ennis (Alice) of Brooklyn, and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 21 at The Federated Church of Christ of Brooklyn. Burial will be private in South Cemetery, Brooklyn.
