DAYVILLE --- Westview Health Care Center residents and patients got their motors running and enjoyed a mini line up of old-time vintage and classic cars on the grounds of the facility during a sizzlin' lazy, hazy, crazy day of summer.
The cars were owned by classic car enthusiasts Rick Kublbeck, Burt and Kathleen Michaud, Dennis and Renee Savage and Arthur Chmura. Cars started lining up at 10:30 a.m. and stayed through the afternoon so residents, patients, family members and staff could enjoy the sights, take pictures and talk about classic days gone by, when the rock and roll rhythms were foot tappin', and the cars were supped up hotrods with style and flair. Some of the featured cars were two 1956 Chevrolets, a 1955-2 door hard-top Bel Aire Neptune and 1929 Ford Model A Coupe with a rumble seat.
Westview staff and volunteers fired up the grill with a good old summertime cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs that filled the air and the bellies of all who attended the event. Staff members and volunteers dressed the part in 1950s attire for authenticity and assisted individuals throughout the special day.
