The Robo Mustangs robot team from the Putnam Science Academy took the Connect Award at the recent robot Northern New York Competition in Potsdam, N.Y.
Ten members from the PSA Robotics team competed. there were 27 teams.
The Mustangs played five matches in which they lost three and won two.
The Connect Award goes to the team which connects with the local community.
Omer Seven, the head coordinator of PSA Robotics, talked about the importance of the award. “This award has really excited our members and since we have more members this year we are expecting more in the future but we are thankful for the award.” In the last two years the Robo Mustangs have been able to pick up a total of nine awards from various state competitions including one in the world championships held in St. Louis.
Omer Atas, club captain, said, “I am happy to see that our hard work in making our community well informed about robotics has been acknowledged.” He also talked about their future plans. “From now on we need to work harder to win the Inspire Award in order to qualify for the World Championships.”
Robo Mustangs have opened their Tournament Season.
