Rovero named
vice chair
of aging panel
State Representative Danny Rovero (D-Killingly, Putnam, Thompson) has been selected by House Speaker Brendan Sharkey-designate to serve as vice chairman of the Aging Committee. The new General Assembly session begins Jan. 9.
“I look forward to serving my peers,” said Rovero. “I have always been responsive to the needs of seniors and I look forward to serving their best interest.”
The Aging Committee has a duty to look out for our senior citizens and I’m confident Rep. Rovero is up to the challenge,” said Sharkey. “Danny brings a wide spectrum of knowledge to each of his committee assignments and I look forward to working with him.”
The Aging Committee is one of the joint standing committees of the Connecticut General Assembly. It is composed of 12 members - 3 Senators and 9 Representatives. The committee has cognizance of all matters relating to senior citizens.
“I’m honored to have been chosen for a committee leadership position in my second term,” said Rovero.
Rovero will also serve on the Banks Committee, General Law Committee and the Public Safety and Security Committee.
