Putnam man charged in January stabbing
PUTNAM — April 23 the Putnam Police Department and detectives arrested a Putnam man in connection with a stabbing on Powhattan Street in January.
Roland K. McFarlin, 49, of 127 School St., was charged with second-degree assault with weapon/without discharge of firearm, according to Putnam Police Captain Justin D. Lussier. 
A 44-year-old male victim was seriously assaulted with an edged instrument and sustained significant injuries. The victim was conscious and alert when police arrived on Powhattan Street. He was treated at the scene by Putnam EMS and transported to Day Kimball Hospital for further medical attention.
After an extensive investigation conducted by the Putnam Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, an arrest warrant was obtained for McFarlin and he was taken into custody without incident.  All accused are innocent until proven guilty.
