Joyce Duff, outgoing president of the Putnam Rotary Club, gives William J. Czmyr Jr., president of the American Legion Community Vets Housing project, a donation of $5,000 to go toward the housing project. The group has already broken ground on the building in Jewett City. PUTNAM --- At a recent board of Directors meeting, the Putnam Rotary Club announced recent donations made to the community including:
$5,000 to the TALVHI Project (veterans housing), $2,500 to the Moe Beaulac Scholarship Fund, $2,500 to the Leon Archambault Scholarship Fund, $1,000 to Bradley Playhouse, $200 to the CT Audubon Society at Pomfret, $1,000 to the Central Massachusetts tornado fund, $1,000 to the Joplin, Mo., tornado fund, $3,000 to two-year reserved scholarships, $250 to Habitat for Humanity of NE CT, $250 for the American Legion baseball, $500 N.E. Placement Services, $200 to Particle Accelerator, $500 to TEEG and $500 to Daily Bread.
