PUTNAM — Members of the Putnam Rotaract Club are hosting The Best Spaghetti Dinner… EVER! to help raise money for the American Legion’s “Home At Last” Capital Campaign. The dinner will take place at 6 p.m. May 11 at the Putnam VFW Post on Providence Street. The event includes entertainment by DJ Colt 45, a 50/50 Raffle, and door prizes.
For tickets see Bryan Smith at Gentleman’s Choice Barbershop on Kennedy Drive or call 860-315-9043.
Andrew Farner, Rotaract Club president, said, “Each veteran has made a huge personal sacrifice for this country. All of our Rotaract members decided to get behind the “Home At Last” project as our small way of saying ‘thank you’ to eastern Connecticut’s veterans. Rotaract is all about service before self. We are honored to donate a portion of the proceeds from The Best Spaghetti Dinner EVER to this important effort.”
The “Home At Last” campaign is restoring an existing building in Jewett City into 18 permanent supportive housing units for homeless veterans in eastern Connecticut. The first veterans will move in this spring.
Rotaract is sponsored by the Putnam Rotary Club. The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
