PUTNAM — May 17 the Putnam Business Association took part in the Connecticut Conference on Tourism’s annual Pineapple Awards ceremony. after being nominated as Eastern District finalists in two categories including “Excellence in Tourism Image for the PBA’s “effectively promoting its business as a part of Connecticut’s tourism product and the Volunteer of the Year” Award for Karen Osbrey, PBA president.
The Pineapple Awards are given out each year to outstanding members of Connecticut’s tourism industry, with a total of thirty six nominees in four categories in 2012.
Although the PBA did not win the top prize in either category, Osbrey said that the organization is thrilled to have been recognized and plans on returning to the Pineapple Awards in the future.
In addition to PBA honors, Fort Hill Farm of Thompson was named the Eastern District “Tourism Ambassador” and the Still River CafĂ© of Eastford won the “Four Diamond Award” from AAA National.
