Beirut Remembrance
PUTNAM --- Members of the American Legion Post 13 will host its second annual 31st Anniversary Remembrance: A Candlelight Vigil to honor the memory, service and sacrifice of the service members who lost their lives in the Beirut barracks bombing starting at 6 p.m. at Rotary Park. Spaghetti Supper
WOODSTOCK --- Woodstock Academy’s student-run nonprofit organization, Family Related Effective Solutions for Humanity (FRESH), will be hosting its 5th annual Spaghetti Supper fund-raiser at 6 p.m. at the school.  Dinner, auctions and much more.  $10 per person; $5 for senior citizens and kids 10 and younger. Benefits  camperships and scholarships for students who cannot afford camps. All Tri-M profits will be used to go to music scholarships for Academy students and to the betterment of the music department.  928-6575

Lasagna Dinner
BROOKLYN --- The Federated Church of Christ at routes 6 and 169 will hold a Take Out Lasagna Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. $10.

PUTNAM --- The Putnam Business Association's annual Great Pumpkin Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. around downtown Putnam.

CHEPACHET --- The Music at the Meeting House series will present the Brass Roots Trio in a concert titled "Con Brio -- With Zest" at 2:30 p.m. at the Chepachet Meeting House (Chepachet Baptist Church) on Rt. 44. Food Drive
PUTNAM --- There will be a food drive for northeastern Connecticut’s many needy people from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Cargill Council 64 Knights of Columbus Hall on Providence Street. Please bring your non-perishable food items and tax-deductible monetary donations, to help your neighbors in need. Fund-raiser Run
 EASTFORD --- Nine-year-old Kenny Botting of Eastford underwent major brain surgery Sept. 29 and to support the family, the Eastford Recreation Commission and the Town of Eastford are sponsoring “Fun Run for Kenny” at noon at Eastford Elementary School.
