Steve’s River Blossoms
PUTNAM --- A display of blossoms will grace the River Fire stands in the Quinebaug River through Nov. 5. It is named in honor of Steve Bousquet who had a dream of such a display. It is funded by Bousquet's Appliance.

Bombing Remembrance
PUTNAM --- At 5 p.m. in Veteran’s Park, there will be a ceremony to remember the tragic 1983 Beirut U.S. military barracks bombing attack. The ceremony will include an Honorary Color Guard, the names of the casualties will be read, and Connecticut servicemen that were casualties will be remembered. Public welcome. Bring your own seating. COVID-19 compliance.

Hike
WOODSTOCK --- A hike on the fields, woods and wetlands of the 154-acre Rapoport/Spalding Preserve will be held at 10 a.m. Rain or shine, this is a relatively easy and scenic 2 mile walk. Please park respectfully at the end of Calkins Road (off Joy Road), by #129 Calkins Rd. Leashed dogs are welcome. www.wyndhamlandtrust.org
Drug Take Back
PUTNAM --- As part of the national Prescription Drug Take Back effort, unwanted or unused prescription medications, any vaping products can be dropped off, no questions asked from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion off Kennedy Drive. In addition drug paraphernalia can be turned in as “abandoned property,” no questions asked. COVID guidelines followed. Sponsored by the Putnam Police Department in partnership with Hale YMCA Prevention Coalition.

GROSVENORDALE --- All the Woodstock fire departments and Community Fire Station 81 will hold their 15th annual Toy Collection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the WVFA station on Rt. 169 and the Community Fire Station on Riverside Drive. Bring a new unwrapped toy or a donation. Toys for all ages needed – infant to teen. Benefits local families.

PUTNAM --- Today is the RSVP deadline for the seventh annual Putnam Lodge of Elks free Thanksgiving Dinner for those who may be alone for the holiday --- families, community elders and veterans.
