PUTNAM — June 8 the Putnam Police Department arrested a New London on parole absconder (after drug charges) without incident.
The arrest was based on an arrest warrant issued by the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office.
According to Putnam Police Chief Christopher D. Ferace, Coti L. Johnson, 24, 239 Nautilus Dr., New London, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
The arrest stems from an investigation initiated in August of 2021 while assisting Connecticut Parole Officers searching for a parole absconder. During that investigation a substantial quantity of narcotics pre-packaged for distribution at the street level was seized from a residence in Putnam. The narcotics were later determined to have been possessed by the accused.
The accused was initially held on $50,000 Court set bond and arraigned later in the day at GA 21 Danielson Superior Court. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
