Boxcar museum gets
grant; kids get gifts
PUTNAM — Aspinock Historical Society just received a grant from the Putnam Area Foundation for $6,700 for the air conditioning/heating system for the Gertrude Chandler Warner Children’s Box Car Museum. Jewett City Savings Bank also purchased 88 Gertrude Warner Boxcar Children books for Putnam Elementary School’s 3rd grade class. The museum is slated to open May 6.
