Author to speak
on May 20
PUTNAM — The Putnam Library Author Series will present author Christopher Torockio, professor of creative writing at ECSU at 1 p.m. May 20 in the Municipal Complex. Free and all welcome.
The next event in the Putnam Library Author Series will be in October.
Chris is the award-winning author of four books of fiction—two novels and two collections of short stories.
His fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, The Antioch Review, New Orleans Review, Willow Springs, West Branch and other publications.
Four of his stories were awarded Pushcart Prize special mentions.
He has been awarded grants and fellowships from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, the North Carolina Arts Council, the Vermont Studio Center and the Wesleyan Writers Conference.
His published books are “The Soul Hunters” (a novel), “The Truth at Daybreak” (short stories), “Floating Holidays” (a novel), and “Presence” (short stories).
