Berk awarded scholarship
Trisha Berk, daughter of Jennifer and Daniel Berk of Woodstock, was recently selected as the recipient of the Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship. The scholarship was created by Andy Thiede, an HR professional from Berlin, with a passion for helping others in the HR field.
Berk is an HR Business Coordinator at HR Bull Consulting, in North Branford, and currently lives in West Haven.
To date, Andy has proudly awarded more than $8,500 in scholarships to Connecticut professionals working in HR. Trisha is the 18th recipient of the Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship.
“Trisha has done everything right to pave the way for a wonderful career in human resources, said Andy Thiede. She added, “Trisha earned a master’s degree, joined our local SHRM chapter (Society for Human Resource Management, and is the world’s largest HR association), networked with colleagues and landed a position, and now has obtained her HR certification credentials. I can’t wait to see what happens next for her!”
Berk was selected for the HR Certification Scholarship based on her dedication to helping people, and her ambition to excel in her HR career. She used the scholarship to test for the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional) designation.
On July 1 she completed the 4-hour SHRM-CP certification test, and passed it the first time.
“I have a lot of big dreams for my career in HR, a set of goals to benchmark, and plans on how I will reach my full potential,” she said. “This scholarship allowed me to earn my SHRM-CP certification, which is a key goal that will help me achieve my career objectives.”
