Inducted

WILLIMANTIC — One local Eastern Connecticut State University student was recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for the field of communication: Lee Gendron ’18 of Quinebaug was one of the inductees. Gendron’s major is communication.

 

Elected

WORCESTER — Two local students were elected to student government leadership positions at Assumption College and will serve during the 2017-18 academic year: Megan Harrington of E. Killingly, Class of 2018, has been elected senator; Mitchell Hudon of Danielson, Class of 2020, has been elected senator.

 

Honored

On May 23 five members of the Pomfret Community School Hope for Haiti traveled to the Connecticut Association of Schools in Cheshire to accept their Challenge to Educational Citizenship Award. Nine middle and high schools from across Connecticut were honored at this reception for their commitment to serving others and their intrinsic altruism. DANIELSON —  Fourteen Quinebaug Valley Community College students, as well as another four from Quinebaug Middle College, were recipients of the 10th annual Julius Sokenu Poetry Awards .
