The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments jointly funded the local arts assessment for the 12 towns in NECCOG: Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson, Union and Woodstock.
The overall goal of the assessment was to provide a comprehensive review of the cultural resources in the twelve towns of NECCOG and to form a database of local artists, cultural organizations and businesses. A survey was developed and distributed in the region that contained questions about the arts and culture in the participating communities.
Participating in the survey allowed the public to express opinions and become a part of the mission to take our region to the next level. The survey results, identified issues and recommendations for future development in the arts and cultural community will be revealed in this final report.
The summary report will be available online Oct. 31 at www.nectarts.org and at www.putnamct.us.
