WALLINGFORD — A love of learning and a passion for nursing are common bonds shared by this year’s recipients of Masonicare’s Norma J. Brandt Nursing Scholarship. The Norma J. Brandt Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 through a generous gift to The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut from John O. Brandt Jr. of Pomfret Center in memory of his wife, Norma, a registered nurse who loved nursing and dedicated her life to helping others.  Mr. Brandt is a Mason from Putnam Lodge No. 46 in S. Woodstock. The scholarship provides individuals pursuing a career in nursing with financial assistance towards their coursework.
