HARTFORD — The YMCA of Greater Hartford has announced that James Morton, its president and CEO, will be leaving Hartford to become the president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Boston. He will begin his new role on April 6.
Prior to joining the YMCA of Greater Hartford in 2010, Morton served as president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater.
Morton led major expansion of YMCA programs and facilities during his tenure with the YMCA of Greater Hartford, including the capital campaign and groundbreaking of the new Regional Community YMCA now under construction in Putnam.
“I move on to Boston knowing that the Greater Hartford YMCA Board of Directors and the Regional Community YMCA Board of Advisors will lead this project to completion, culminating in the ‘grand-opening’ of Connecticut’s newest YMCA,” said Morton.
The YMCA will begin its search for Morton’s replacement immediately.
